The president’s Twitter feed is a window into his mental processes — and what the world sees through the @realDonaldTrump Twitter page isn’t very reassuring.
On Tuesday, the president took to Twitter to respond to the recent mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, that left nearly 60 attendees of a country music festival dead. (Breaking from his traditional procrastination on important issues of human life, this belated tweet isn’t his first response to the incident.)
His supporters have — unsurprisingly — refused to acknowledge the need for common sense gun control in the aftermath of the incident, and on Twitter this Tuesday, Trump tried to make it seem as though he really does “care” about the situation, even though he refuses to work towards keeping similar situations from unfolding in the future.
‘It is a “miracle” how fast the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were able to find the demented shooter and stop him from even more killing!’
As ThinkProgress’ Judd Legum noted, the president’s comments aren’t even entirely based in reality, since the attacker in the Las Vegas incident — Stephen Paddock — shot himself before police arrived.
Legum wrote on Twitter:
‘Police didn’t enter his room until an hour after the shooting began. He shot himself before they arrived.’
