Donald Trump is having one of his explosive meltdowns now that child molester GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore – who Trump endorsed – lost Alabama to Democrat Doug Jones. Trump marked this major blow to the GOP by rage-tweeting, but aides in the White House thinks it’s going to get much uglier in the near future.
Trump had endorsed Moore without even consulting most of his advisors, yet his aides are certain that they are going to be blamed for the humiliated loss, considering that Trump can’t take responsibility for anything he does. According to the New York Times, this will also include his own daughter, Ivanka, because she was one of Moore’s critics. The Times reported:
“The president was also enraged when his daughter Ivanka Trump got ahead of him by declaring there was a special place in hell’ for people who harm children.”
Weeks ago, when the sexual assault allegations began to pile up against Moore, Ivanka had released a statement that said:
That quote would haunt Trump for the rest of Moore’s campaign, as it was heavily used in anti-Moore ads. Even Steve Bannon, Trump’s old best friend in the White House, acknowledged the quote by taking an indirect dig at Ivanka during a rally for Moore on Monday. He said:
“(Senate Majority Leader) Mitch McConnell and Sen. (Richard) Shelby, and Condi Rice and all that, Little (Sen.) Bobby Corker, all the establishment out there doesn’t have Trump’s back at all. here’s a special place in hell for Republicans who should know better.”
In the past, Trump and Ivanka have kept their disagreements private – but this time she went public. And from what we’re seeing so far, Trump is beyond p*ssed.
