While visiting the Coast Guard in Riviera Beach, Florida for Thanksgiving, our Commander-in-Chief once again put his ignorance on full display with his shamelessly ignorant description of the Air Force’s new F-35 fighter jet.
Notwithstanding the fact that Trump conflated the Coast Guard, Navy, and Air Force, whether he actually thinks that the United States Air Force has commissioned an invisible plane or has a very tenuous understanding of the word “invisible,” the President’s depiction of the aircraft reads more like a 16-year-old than the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces.
Of course, he didn’t stop there. Trump went on to congratulate himself for the state of an economy that has been growing for 104 months. Eleven of those months belong to Trump; 93 belong to his predecessor, Barack Obama.
“The stock market on Friday hit the all-time high. The highest it’s ever been, ever. In your whole long life, the stock market is higher than it’s ever been. And that means your 401(k)s and all the things you have. You know whether it’s, even if you’re in the military. You have a country that’s starting to turn. We want to have a strong country.”
Had Trump truly been so interested in the military, perhaps he wouldn’t have sought five deferments to draft the Vietnam War. Now, however, the President has resorted to simply gloating about invisible airplanes in the sky.
