A 1.8 million subscriber YouTube channel, SoFlo, decided to do what all of us wish we could try, but have neither the time nor the inclination to do so: They went out into the street to track down Trump supporters, and presented them with a series of quotes the people were told were from Donald Trump.
The catch? The “pamphlet” the host reads from is actually just printed with Trump letterhead on it, and contains nothing but quotes from Adolf Hitler. The point of the experiment was to see if supporters of the president could tell the difference.
Unfortunately for these people, they’re Trump voters, which means they just aren’t very perceptive to begin with.
Anyone who sees and paints a sky green and fields blue ought to be sterilized.”
After showing off his Chinese-made Trump Brand necktie, one man responded, “Well there’s a lot of people who should be sterilized according to Trump, so sure.” Because, you know, that’s what you do with people who paint things the wrong color. Right?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don’t think.”
Glossing over the fact that he also was covered by the quote he was responding to, one excited Trump voter told the host, “You look at the Democratic party and they prove that. That’s why I’m voting for Trump.” God forbid he’s ever given another chance to do so.
I do not see why man should not be as cruel as nature.”
“Well man is the cruelest animal,” said the businessman in the Trump tie.
Great liars are also great magicians.”
That one actually got one woman Trump supporter to admit she was okay with Trump lying, saying, “Wow. Well, I think he’s gonna lie in any way to probably support the country. They’ll be good lies.”
Good lies, you guys. Good ones.
Of course, for the gag to work, the host has to let the
victims dumbasses Trump fans know that they were actually agreeing with a fascist dictator responsible for the murder of millions. “Yeah, but I don’t support Hitler.” Of course, barely a blink passes: “Well if Donald Trump said them I’d support them.”
And what would a trip out to talk to the people on the street be without at least one drunk guy? “Hitler actually did good things. He created the Volkswagen. Folks. It’s for the folks,” he said.
Trump’s fascist behavior has been compared to Hitler plenty of times, and with good reason — although he hasn’t actually undergone any plans to exterminate entire groups of people yet, the parallels between Trump’s tenure so far and the rise of the German dictator have been extensively documented.
